The Dixie Angels State Tournament being held in Bonham has seen some great softball games with a lot of talent from the many different towns represented. Many fans traveled some distance to Bonham to support their teams. As anticipated a large crowd attended the games on Saturday and Sunday. A full update of tournament news is pending.
Tonight will feature the state championship game in the Traditional Play bracket when Winnsboro will face Blossom at 7:00 p.m. This has been a well played tournament with Pineland being eliminated on Saturday, setting the stage for tonight’s championship. Winnsboro and Blossom have one loss each in the double elimination tournament.
In the X-Play tournament host team Bonham will face Fairfield at 6:00 p.m., while undefeated Rusk will face Cleveland at 8:00 p.m.. The X-Play tournament has been a very well played tournament, featuring talented young ladies showcasing their softball skills.
We encourage fans to come out to the ballpark and support our host team Bonham. There was a large crowd from Bonham in attendance last night and these girls will appreciate even more fans to come and support them tonight.
Admission is $ 4,00 for adults, kids 12 and under $ 2.00, money raised from hosting these tournaments are used for facility and equipment upgrade, as well as needed additions to the Bonham Baseball Softball Association. BBSA appreciates the many volunteers who have worked hard to make the tournaments a success.
