The McKinney Lions started their 5A Division 1 season with a spectacular win over Mansfield Legacy 55-46.

McKinney senior quarterback Robert Somborn was on the attack with a number of great receivers, tossing four touchdown passes while suffering no interceptions. Red Shannon is Somborn's #1 receiver and also plays a tough defense.

After a first quarter that saw the teams tied 7-7 at the buzzer, McKinney went up 28-7 to take control of the game.

McKinney was ripe for an impressive win after suffering an 0-10 season last year.
