McKinney -- The Wild West came galloping into Chestnut Square in historic downtown McKinney Friday afternoon as the Spirit of the Cowboy festival got underway. Western performers entertained a crowd watching from the comfort of the shady front yard of the Dulaney House and vendors were setting up for a busy Saturday.

Saturday's activities start at 10:00 a.m. during the weekly Historic McKinney Farmers Market and continue until 5:00 p.m.

Don't miss this opportunity to take a ride in an authentic Butterfield stage coach, enjoy western performers or even enjoy a great meal at the chuck wagon circle up.

Eleven celebrities from the great TV and movie westerns of the 1950s and '60s have signed on to attend the event.

At 7:00 p.m., Dinner with the Stars begins at The Pantry Restaurant in historic downtown McKinney. Ticket sales to the Dinner with the Stars event are limited.

All tickets are available online at the Spirit of the Cowboy website, www.spiritofthecowboy.net.
