Tom Bean High School held their fall blood drive on Thursday, October 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The drive was hosted by the National Honor Society students and their  sponsor, Cathy Harris. Texoma Regional Blood Center staff conducted the very successful drive.

Students who were a minimum of 17 years of age, faculty members and parents made up the total of 59 who  came out to donate.  Out of that, 11 were deferred for various reasons, leaving a total of 48 pints of blood collected.  Since 1 pint of blood can save 3 lives, the blood received at the drive will go to benefit a total of 144 patients at our community hospitals.  This is a tremendous gift to our communities!

The Texoma Regional Blood Center in Sherman must continually conduct blood drives in order to maintain a safe level of blood supply necessary to stock the shelves of the 5 hospitals that TRBC serves. Those hospitals are Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ  and Heritage Park Surgical Hospital in Sherman, Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham, and Muenster Memorial Hospital.  The Texoma Regional Blood Center is also open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. To locate a drive near you, go to www.texomablood.org , or call (903) 893-4314 to inquire.
