Whitewright -- The firemen's chili was a' boilin', classic cars were all a' shinin' and the crowd just kept a' comin' to the 10th annual Grand Street Fall Festival in Whitewright this past Sunday, November 3.

Blessed with picture perfect weather, historic downtown Whitewright swelled to record levels with the influx of residents and visitors in town for this annual autumn highlight.

The North Texas Firefighters Chili Cook Off is a major part of this festival, with all proceeds going to help participating fire departments purchase equipment and make repairs.  In the afternoon, the public was able to sample chili for only $5.

The Whitewright Future Farmers of America hosted the Custom Car Show.  After judges deliberated at 2:30 p.m., prizes were awarded in categories that included cars, trucks, motorcycles and low riders.

Wine tastings were available.  In all, more that 100 vendors lined the streets in downtown Whitewright. Many of the merchants in the downtown area were open, as well.
