The Tom Bean City Council recently voted to hire John E. Hunt as the new Police Chief after the former Chief turned in his resignation last week.

After the swearing in ceremony last week, the attendees of the meeting were invited to cake, punch and coffee to celebrate the new change in the Police Department.

John Moore, retired U. S. Marshall, presented John with a gift along with a welcoming speech to commemorate his new position with the city.

All the Tom Bean Police Officers (both paid and reserve) were on hand for the event.

Photos were taken of the special event and the Mayor and City Council members wished Chief Hunt good luck and full support in his new vision for Tom Bean.

Part of Chief Hunt's vision is to have the Tom Bean Police more visible to the citizens and work with the schools to implement a school resource officer (SRO) program. Welcome Chief John E. Hunt!
