Bonham, Texas -- Funeral services for Mr. Gene William Keen, 63, of Bonham, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel in Leonard.  Charles E. Wrenn will officiate.  Burial will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery near Leonard.  Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012. 

Mr. Keen was born June 28, 1949 in Leonard.  His parents were Alvin and Vera Myrtle Henson Keen.  He married Shirley Ann Taylor August 22, 1969 at Bonham.  He was a high school graduate, a member of the Ector church of Christ and a meter tech for the City of Allen Water Department. 

Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and loyal friend.  He enjoyed antiquing, woodworking, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.  He passed away Wednesday November 14, 2012 at the Medical Center of Plano from injuries sustained in a pedestrian/automobile accident. 

He is survived by his wife:  Shirley A. Keen of Bonham; his son and daughter-in-law:  Travis Keen and Wendy; his daughter and her fiancé:  Teresa Keen and Damon Wilder of Nevada; his two granddaughters:  Rachel Clark of Allen and Haylee Wilder of Sachse; his 7 brothers:  Alvin Lee Keen and John Keen of Bonham, Joe Keen of Campbell, Robert Keen of Sherman, Mike Keen of Bonham, Charles (Buddy) Keen of Huntsville and Jerry Keen of Ore City; his 4 sisters:  Nettie Shiflett, Wanda Hall, Polly Cuthbertson and Linda Hall, all of Bonham.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

Pallbearers will be John Keen, Jr., Kavin Keen, Ricky Hall, Brad Hall, Jerry Don Keen, Glenn Whitaker and Jay Barroso. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Keen, Joe Keen, Jr., Alvin Lee Keen, Jr., Shannon Hall, Chad Shrum, Ben Taylor, Jeff Morris and Gene’s friends and co-workers from the City of Allen. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers:  Walter Keen and Donald Keen.
