Mary Finley, 96, of Paris, Texas went to be with her Lord Sunday evening, Nov. 25, 2012 at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November, 28, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Honey Grove. Funeral services are pending, however Mr. Gary Reed and Mr. Larry Hulsey will officiate the service with granddaughters Norma Jean Dunigan, Felecia Erwin, Rebecca McReynolds, Diann Hulsey, Patrice Holt and Great Grandaughter, Erin McMonigle serving as pallbearers.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery following the pending service.
Mary Olive Sherwood Finley was born Nov. 6, 1916 to parents Alvin and Addie Bursma Sherwood in the Georgia Community in Lamar County, Texas. Mary Olive married Bert Cree Finley Dec. 21, 1935 in Petty, TX. He preceded Mary in death Dec. 20, 2005. She was a member of the Forest Hill United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, camping, fishing, reading and puzzle books. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family.
Mrs. Finley is survived by daughters Frances Houchins of Emberson community and Pat Morman of Paris, grandchildren: Felecia Erwin, Rebecca McReynolds, Norma Dunigan, Chris and Stacey Pendergraft, David Tyler, Diann Hulsey, Dale Tyler and Patrice Holt. She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, one brother Herbert and wife Golda Sherwood, sister-in-law, Mary Finley and sister-in-law Hattie Mae Sherwood.
Mrs. Finley was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Betty Erwin, Ruth Tyler, Sandra McMonigle, grandson, Gary Neal Erwin, Son in Law, Leo Houchins, Grandson-in-law, Joe Dunigan and grandsons, Aubrey Michael and Adrian Pendergraft. Several brothers and sister.
