Wolfe City, Texas -- Bobby Dearld Ethridge of Gordonville, Texas died December 19, 2012 after a lengthy illness at Collinsville Nursing Home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 22 at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel, with Wendyl Glenn officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday morning.

 Mr. Ethridge was born August 5, 1929, in Celeste, Texas to James LeRay Ethridge and Ella May Jones Ethridge.  On August 8,1950, he married Allie Marettia Forbes in Celeste.  He was a retired auto mechanic and a Korean War veteran.  He was a member of Sherwood Shores Baptist Church, Gordonville, Texas where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife of Collinsville; a son, Jimmy Ethridge and wife, Kathy, of Whitesboro; a daughter, Sue Ann Thurston of Sherman; one granddaughter, Beth Ann Thurston; two grandsons, Derek Ethridge and wife, Kendra; of Whitesboro, Joshua Thurston and wife, Nicole of Cove, Ark.;  seven great-grandchildren, Jordan Thurston, Ryan Thurston and Shelby Thurston, all of Sherman, Payton Ethridge of Whitesboro, Alison Thurston, Jack Thurston and Katie Thurston, all of Cove, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Hazel, Erma, and Jeannie; and brothers, Ray and twin brother, Bill.
