Ector -- The Ector Lady Eagles improved to 5-1 in District 22A with a 22-point win over the Savoy Lady Cardinals.
These two teams battled point-for-point in the first half. The scoreboard showed 11-11 after the first quarter and Ector held a two-point advantage, 18-16, at the half.
The Lady Eagles and the Lady Cardinals were all knotted up at 18-18 midway through the third period when Ector put together an 18-1 run to take control.
The Lady Eagles posted a 43-21 victory to set up a showdown in Dodd City on Friday with the district title on the line. A win by Dodd City would give them first place and send Ector into the playoffs as the number two seed out of District 22A. A win by Ector would give leave both teams with 6-1 records and force a play-in to determine the top seed for the playoffs.
Against Savoy, Ector senior Brittney Crowell scored a game-high 19 points, Danyelle Huey put up eight points, Cristi Abbott scored seven, Heather Wilson had six points and Kelsee Nelson chipped in three points.
For Savoy, Emily Cornell and Lindsey Stone both scored eight points, Hanna White and Jerica Isom each tossed in two points and Katie Gibson hit a free throw.
