Casting has concluded for the fourth show of Artistic Director Anthony Nelson’s inaugural season of the Sherman Community Players.  25 members of the North Texas community came down to the Finley during the middle of February to audition for the all-female comedy written by Jones, Hope, and Wooten, The Dixie Swim Club.  The writing trio is best known for their series of plays revolving the town of Fayro Texas:  Dearly Departed, Christmas Belles, and Southern Hospitality and they are also responsible for the hit television series The Golden Girls.

The Dixie Swim Club follows the lives of five Southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team; they set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships.  Free from husbands, kids, and jobs, they meet to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives.

Rounding out the extremely talented cast is:  Allison Minton, Jessica Adams, Lisa Avila, GayNell Doshier, and Morgan Morgan.

Opening April 12 and playing for three weeks, this production promises to be a heart-warming journey that the audiences will love.
