Social workers recognized at luncheon in Sherman

Sherman -- March is National Professional Social Work Month and several social workers from across North Texas were recognized at a luncheon held Thursday, March 14 in Sherman.

Heart to Heart Hospice held its First Annual Shining Star Award Ceremony to honor social workers who are serving families in Collin, Fannin and Grayson counties.

Following a healthy lunch,  Rusty Summit, LVN, Hospice Consultant, presented Shining Star Awards to Laurie Teague, Camille Roddy, Tracey Fugett and Lea Ann Nelson.

Keynote speaker for the event was Gena Glasco.

Other social workers recognized include Ashley Lott, Amanda Fulkerson, Bill Shepard, Laura Stanley, Susan Sarris, Imelda Rider, Misty Barnes, Barbie Johnson, Lou Ann Bankston, Amanda Gilbreath, Brandy Walter, Holly Davis, Linda Moseley, Maggie Farrell and Gloria Beck.
