On Monday, April 25, the third grade students from Finley-Oates travelled to Dallas to visit the Dallas World Aquarium. One hundred twenty-one third graders and seventeen adults toured the exhibits, and were amazed by the many animals housed inside. Favorites included the jaguar, the crocodile, and the sea horses.

For many students, this was their first time to visit a large metropolitan area and experience exotic creatures up close and in their native environment. Students were able to feed toucans and rest in a tunnel while sharks swam overhead. The group was rewarded with souvenir calendars and a Dallas World Aquarium book because of their behavior.

Aquarium staff said they had never had a group enter the exhibits as quietly as the Finley-Oates group. These third graders represented the Bonham ISD well!

This trip was made possible by the Bonham Education Foundation and the Finley-Oates PTO.
