Bonham -- The 7th Annual Heritage Day Celebration has been moved to the Trades Day area in Bonham where visitors will enjoy a full day of activities Saturday, May 4 and the evening will end with performances by the Brandon Bush Band beginning at 6:00 p.m. and then Mark Wayne Glasmire takes the stage from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Brandon Bush appropriately discovered the Alt/Roots and Texas Country Music scene sitting on a tailgate at a pasture party.  That night he heard Pat Green and Reckless Kelly for the first time, and the next day, made his three-piece punk cover band learn the tunes.  After moving to Denton to pursue a bachelor's degree, Bush started taking songwriting more seriously and began playing at a bar on Fry Street called The Garage.

Three years later, with degree in hand, Bush has gathered a generous following stretching from back home in Ector, Texas all the way to Fort Worth.  With a little luck and dedication, he formed the Brandon Bush Band in the summer of 2007.  Its members are Micheal Burgess on bass and harmonica, Brad Haefner on lead guitar and other stringed instruments, and Shea Henley on drums.  The band has been nominated twice as a contestant on 95.3 The Range's Shiner Rising Star competition, and has a single out called "Mad Dog Mean."

Mark Wayne Glasmire's new, seven-song EP, Mark Wayne Glasmore, was released in January and the project has already given the resident of Arlington, Texas a #1 European single ("I Like You").

"I'm in a really good place right now," says the personable singer/songwriter. "I'm spending a lot more time on my music - a luxury I've never had before." For Glasmire, the extra hours spent advancing his career are exciting and invigorating. "I really believe that music is my life's purpose, and I feel that this project shows that more than anything I've done before," he explains.

Mark's last CD, the critically-acclaimed Life Goes on (2009) gave him several hits: "You Opened My Eyes" held the #1 spot on the International Country HotDisc Chart for a total of four weeks and performed well on the national U.S. Music Row Chart, while "Everything Is Gonna Be Alright" was a favorite at country radio around the globe.

"Life Goes on was a good album," Mark says. "But I think this new EP is even better."

In addition to music by the Brandon Bush Band and Mark Wayne Glasmire, Bonham's Heritage Day Celebration will also have Red River Valley Dulcimer Club to entertain listeners during the day.

Red River Valley Dulcimer Club

Red River Valley Dulcimer Club promotes traditional instruments, so get ready to tap your feet to mountain dulcimers, hammered dulcimers and perhaps even a guitar or fiddle.

Although Smith-Moore-Williams Cafe won't be open for business, owners Bill and Chantal Carey will be set up outside Smith-Moore-Williams.  You can find even more music at this location as talented singer/songwriter Gary Hamilton performs a couple of sets during the day.

Don't forget, there will also be high-flying motorcycle jumps on Chinner Street, a car show, vintage military vehicles, shootouts by reenactors, a garden tractor pull, a motorcycle fun run, a fireman's rodeo and much, much more at the Trades Day area in Bonham Saturday, May 4.
