Bonham -- The 7th Heritage Day Celebration was not without a unique set of challenges -- the site had to be changed after a building collapsed in historic downtown Bonham and frigid temperatures kept many fair-weather festival goers at home -- but, much like the stoic settlers who arrived 177 years ago, event organizers met the challenges head on.
From the first blasts of black powder rifles near Fort Inglish to the heartfelt performance Saturday night by headliner Mark Wayne Glasmire, Heritage Day Celebration was an action-packed day of family-friendly entertainment.
For those who enjoy thrilling motocross stunt riders, Pinn-It Motocross delivered another crowd-pleasing show by successfully landing dozens of jumps between ramps set up in the Trade Days area near Bonham Civic Center.
The roar of motors on the south side of Hwy. 56 meant that Lone Star Garden Tractors Pulling Association was in town for their season-opening competition.
Inside Bonham Civic Center, Bill and Chantal Carey were interviewing local residents about memories of Smith-Moore-Williams Hardware Store.
Music is always a big part of Heritage Day Celebration and this year it began with a talent show. Afterwards, performers such as Caleb Coonrod, Bonham High School Jazz Club, Gary Hamilton, Brandon Bush Band and Mark Wayne Glasmire took turns on the main stage operated by Massey's Music.
