Van Alstyne, Texas -- Services for Edward Hugh Burleson, 74, of Van Alstyne, Texas will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne. Rev Gary Gibbs will officiate. Burial will follow in the Holloway Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home.

Mr. Burleson passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. He was born December 14, 1938 in Groesbeck, Texas to Otis and Sue Stewart Burleson. He married Charlsie Thomas in July of 1961 in Durant, Oklahoma. Edward served in the United States Army and was retired from Texas Instruments as a Manufacture Manager.

He is survived by his sons and their wives, Matt and Alyssa Burleson of Van Alstyne, Hugh and Robin Burleson of Howe and Bill and Amanda Burleson of North Richland Hills. Daughters and their husbands, Lisa and David Veazey of Sachse and Marilyn and Robert Hunt of Howe. Stepsons and their wives, Tim and Diane Zachry of Arlington and Marty and Annie Zachry of McAlester, Oklahoma.  Brothers and their wives, Kerry and Marlene Burleson of McKinney and Billy Jack and Mary Ellen Burleson of Plano.  Sisters, Helen Whaley and husband Red of Forney, Martha Lawson of Austin,  Marilyn Petty and Husband Charles of Port Mansfield and Carol Fuller and husband Jim of Rockwall. 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren.
