Bonham, Texas -- Funeral services for Rita Lou McRae, 68, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Northside Church of Christ in Bonham, Texas. Minister Jim Parker and Roy Willmon will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Duplex Cemetery. Mrs. McRae passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, TX.

Rita Lou (Gibbs) McRae was born on December 30, 1944 in Sherman, TX to Shuffard “Shuff” and Rena (Eskue) Gibbs.  She married Jerry McRae on September 21, 1962 in Elwood, TX.  Rita was a retired bank tellerand was a member of North Ridge Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant, TX. She loved her children, grandchildren, and cats.

She is survived by her husband of 51years, Jerry McRae of Mt. Pleasant, TX; son Jeff McRae and wife Tammy of Conroe, TX; daughter, Melanie Swafford and husband Clint of Paris, TX; grandchildren, Justin McRae of Nacogdoches, TX: Jessica McRae of Ardmore, OK; Colton and Brianna Swafford of Paris, TX; brother, Duane Gibbs and wife Jan of Elwood, TX; sister-in-laws, Nell Gibbs of Telephone, TX; Nancy Gillespie of Watauga, TX, and Sylvia Holcomb of Ft. Worth, TX; brother-in-law O.L. McRae of Millsap, TX; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Floyd Gibbs, and sister, Phyllis Russell.

Serving as pallbearers will be Justin McRae, Colton Swafford, John Williams, Larry Dehls, Don Little, and Robert Perryman. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of North Ridge Church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant, TX.

Family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, TX.
