Van Alstyne, Texas -- A.C. Mosby passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 21, 2013.  He was preceded in death by his parents Audra C. and Della Mosby.  He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Mosby, three sons, Clay Mosby and wife Kathy, Bo Mosby and wife Laura, Craig McClain and wife Meg, one daughter Sarah Coleman and husband Ryan, and 8 grandchildren, Sam, Eli, Coy, Zoe, Caleb, Jack, Reese and Norah.  He is also survived by his sister Billie and her husband Chester and brother Tom and his wife Carolyn.

A.C. was born on January 7, 1936 in Keota, OK where he grew up and attended school.  He later moved to Texas to pursue a career in education where he worked as a teacher and administrator and retired in 1995 as superintendent of Anna ISD. 

In retirement, he greatly enjoyed time on the farm raising cattle traveling with friends and spending time with his beautiful grandchildren.  As a longtime resident of Van Alstyne he proudly served on the city council, was a member of the Masonic lodge and a member of the First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne.  

He was a loving husband and devoted father who cherished the company of his family.  He was a man of honor and a man of his word and would do anything to help the ones he loved.  He will be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Van Alstyne with Rev. Jimmy Tarrant officiating. Burial will follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne.
