Celeste, Texas -- A graveside service for Mr. Edwin Charles West, 81, of Celeste resident, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Celeste/Hogeye Cemetery.  Charles Wrenn will officiate.  Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. November 13, 2013 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel in Leonard.

Mr. West was born September 13, 1932 in Celeste.  His parents were Oscar Edwin and Vallie Beatrice Owens West.  He graduated from East Texas State with a B.S. in Industrial Education, he served his country as a member of the United States Army, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Celeste and he was a farmer.  He married Mikel Cleon Nuttall December 20, 1952 at Greenville, Texas.  He passed away at his residence Monday November 11, 2013.

He is survived by his wife:  Mikel West of Celeste; his son:  David Ray West of Caddo Mills; his daughters:  Rhea Marie Thurman of McKinney and Laurie Kay West of Celeste; his grandson:  Shane Leeth of Celeste and his great grandchild:  Audrey Leeth of Terrell.  He is also survived by numerous cousins.
