Bonham -- The Bonham Warriors used a balanced scoring attack to offset a solid performance by Reno Deutsch of the Community Braves as Bonham evened its District 12-3A record at 1-1 with a double-digit win in front of their hometown fans.
Bonham quickly doubled up on Community at 8-4, but a bucket by Deutsch cut the lead to 8-6 at the first buzzer. The Warriors began distancing the Braves in the second period as Bonham went up 21-13 at halftime.
Dra Smith and Greg Moses connected from beyond the arc in the third quarter as Bonham surged in front by 17 points before cruising to a 41-31 district win.
Greg Moses led Bonham with 14 points, Dra Smith scored 13, Garrett Simpson put up eight points, Joseph Gilbert finished with four points and Tevin Rushing tossed in two points.
Community's Reno Deutsch led all scorers with 15 points.
The loss drops Community to 0-1 in district play.
The Bonham Warriors will be back in action January 21 when they welcome the Princeton Panthers to town.
