Sherman, Texas -- Gladys Wilson, age 105 years, 6 months, 22 days was born on November, 3 1908 in Ellis County, Texas, the daughter of Charlie and Rosa Biggs. She passed away on May 25, 2014 at her home.
Gladys married Tom Wilson on July 11, 1934 they were married almost 50 years before Tom passed away in 1982. Gladys and Tom farmed most all of their lives. After Tom quit farming Gladys went to work at Wilson N Jones Hospital and worked there for 16 years until she retired. She was a hard worker, excellent cook, seamstress and quilter. She was a devout Christian and active in her church First Baptist Church in Tom Bean until her health started declining.
Gladys was a great mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all. Gladys loved life and her family and she fought for life until the end.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, all of her siblings and daughter-in-law Jackie.
She leaves behind her daughter, Joyce Huddleston and her husband Charles of Luella; her son, Terry Wilson of White Mound; 3 grandchildren, Terri Moore and her husband Andy, Sheri Conley and her husband Wade, and Tommie Wilson; and 2 great-granddaughters, Rowan and Quinn Conley.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. Rev. Bobby Hawkins will officiate and burial will follow in the Van Alstyne cemetery.
