Leonard -- The Leonard Tigers opened up a 38-15 lead in the first half and cruised to a 27-point win over Whitewright in the district opened Friday night.

With the win, Leonard moves to 5-0, the program's best start in a decade.

Leonard led 14-7 after the first quarter before scoring 22 points in the second stanza to take control.

Whitewright scored once in the third period and Leonard tacked on a couple of TDs in the final frame to put a 50-23 win in the books.

Leonard will host S&S next Friday.
