Bonham, Texas -- Funeral services for Simon Augustus “Pete” Baugh, 75, of Telephone, Texas will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Ronnie Ball and Bro. Don Cofer will officiate; interment will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery. Mr. Baugh passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at his home.

Simon Augustus “Pete” Baugh was born on July 27, 1939 near Lamasco, TX to Augustus Bradley “Gus” and Elizabeth “Susie” (Davis) Baugh. Pete attended Telephone schools and spent most of his adult life in the Telephone area. Pete was a retired truck driver, most recently for Hell on the Red, Inc, and attended Elwood Baptist Church.

On May 3, 1962, Pete married Cordelia “Kit” (Bursell) Baugh. While they never were blessed with children of their own, they were special Aunt Kit and Uncle Pete to many nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Billy Max Baugh, brother, James Duncan Baugh, sister, Bessie “Mookie” Dizmond, brother, Thomas “Red” Baugh, sister, Barbara “Bob” Ball, brother, Jimmy Don Baugh, and nephews Donnie Dizmond and Jared Dillon Baugh.

Survivors include his wife Kit of the home and their two little dogs, Snowball and Brandy. Other survivors include Pete’s sister, Linda Tschoepe and husband Randy of Bennington, Ok; brother, Jake Baugh and wife Cate of Bonham, TX; sister-in-law, Patty Baugh of Telephone, TX; and close nieces and nephews, Dena Hall, Rhonda Lewis, Lisa Hamilton, Kenny Reed, Jeffrey Reed, and Mark Baugh, along with numerous other nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Reed, Jeffery Reed, Brent Hamilton, Jason Baugh, Mark Baugh, Larry Don Bursell, and Jeff Lewis.

Family visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, Bonham, Texas.
