About Education Opens Doors: A nonprofit founded by a Teach For America alum (Jayda Batchelder) who taught middle school science in Oakcliff and realized that although many students want to go to college, they do not always know how or where to begin. EOD produced a book called Roadmap to Success, an interactive workbook that teaches college readiness skills (how to calculate GPA, what courses they need to take, how to get college funding, writing resumes etc.) This is integrated directly within the classroom setting and is currently in place at 15 North Texas schools and growing.
