Bonham -- Morning Star Academy has announced that the nondenominational Christian school will be expanding to include full curriculum for seventh graders for the 2015-2016 school year.

"Our vision is to follow this group of 6th graders through 12th grade," explained Brandy Burns, Executive Director of Morning Star Academy. "Parents that choose private education want to know their school has the resources to follow students all the way up to graduation."

Morning Star Academy has been one of the true success stories in Fannin County. Since opening its doors in the 2013-2014 school year, the school has experienced steady growth.  That first year, Morning Star Academy enrolled children six weeks old through first grade with plans to add one additional grade level each school year. The school opened with 30 students and enrollment quickly tripled.

This past summer's Discovery Camp was even busier, as 80 students signed up to explore their choice of subjects, including cooking classes, photography, sewing, interior design, and jewelry making.

One parent told Mrs. Burns, "My child felt so empowered to have a choice in what they did that day."

Before the start of its second year, Morning Star Academy added a science lab, music room, art room, an extra classroom and a gymnasium to the state-of-the-art facilities located just north of Bonham on State Hwy. 121.

Now, as enrollment begins for its third year, Morning Star Academy announces this newest expansion.

"The feedback we are getting is that students who have chosen us want to stay," said Burns.

Morning Star Academy is also announcing a promotion for the 2015-2016 school year; students enrolling before March 31 can lock in current tuition prices.

Open house events are scheduled February 17 and again on March 17. These all-day open house events -- 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. -- allow for informal one-on-one tours and also give parents an opportunity to see current students and classrooms in action at the only private school in Fannin County.
