"The contest is to encourage and promote interest among all levels of ability among students through age 18, with the highest standard of music achievement," said Dr. Mary Ann Craige, music professor at SOSU.
Winner of the primary keyboard was Rachel Toews, Calera, student of Beverly Coryell. First and second alternates were Canon Spears, Durant, and Colina Hopson, Atoka, students of Robert McFadden and Malinda Durbin.
Elementary Keyboard division winner was Rachel Britton, Durant, student of Beverly Coryell; first alternate was Breck McGough, Durant, and Britney Hill, Atoka, students of McFadden and Durbin.
Junior keyboard division winner was Keeley McGough, student of McFadden; first and second alternates were Andrew Cacho, Durant, and Sally Pickens, Durant. Both are students of Craige.
Senior keyboard division winner was Alex Heinzmann,
The Junior concerto division was won by Amanda Seay, Durant. She trained under Melina Lucas.
