Dodd City -- The Dodd City Hornets defeated Honey Grove Friday evening in 12-2A baseball action 11-1 in five innings. Junior pitchers Zane Dockery and Holden Horton combined for a no hitter. Dockery went the first four innings, struck out seven and earned the win. Horton struck out the side in the fifth.
The Hornets were led at the plate by Hunter Vaught who was 3 for 4 with a double and four RBI. Lane Hardy was 3 for 4 with two doubles, 2 RBI and two runs, while Dakota Brown was 1 for 3 with a double, RBI and two runs.
The win gives Dodd City an 11-1 record, 9-1 in district play. The Hornets travel to Trenton on Tuesday.
