Prosper, Texas (June 17, 2015) -- A lone bank robber entered the Independent Bank branch in Prosper at about 1:00 p.m. and made off with an undetermined amount of money, says Sgt. Bryan Golden, Prosper Police public information officer.

“At approximately 1 p.m. today, a white male entered the Independent Bank branch at 900 North Preston Road and robbed the teller of an unknown amount of cash,” he said.
The individual, apparently acting alone, was described as between 50 and 60 years of age, wearing sweat pants, a jacket, sunglasses and a white baseball cap.

He was seen driving a light-colored, either white or silver, single cab Nissan pickup truck with a blue stripe along the side. The truck bed included a dark-colored tool box. The passenger side window appeared to have been either broken or missing. The opening was covered with a sheet of clear plastic.

“Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in this incident,” said Golden. “The tellers followed their procedures for this type of incident. And, there were no bank customers injured or otherwise involved.”

Cameras within the bank were activated at the time of the incident and police investigators have an image of the suspected perpetrator which they are using to attempt to identify the individual.

An investigation has been initiated, and Prosper Police are asking the public for assistance. Information on this crime can be submitted to the tip line at (972) 347-9002.
