Bonham, Texas -- Memorial services for Carl Vaden (Buddy) Horton, 71, of San Antonio, Texas will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at First Methodist Church, 801 Star, Bonham, Texas. Pastor Clay Horton, Trietch Memorial United Methodist Church, Flower Mound, Texas and Pastor Roy Burpo, Lannius Assembly of God Church will officiate.

Mr. Horton passed away, Sunday, October 4, 2015 in Boerne, Texas.

Carl Vaden Horton was born in Lannius, Texas December 24, 1943 to Fletcher Vaden and Gladys (Taylor) Horton. He attended Lannius and Dodd City Schools. Carl enlisted in the US Army after graduation from high school. He was a retired truck driver for Auto Convoy Transportation. He loved riding his motorcycle with friends after retirement and also enjoyed gathering with his friends and playing his guitar. Known as Buddy by his family and community where he grew up, he later developed great friendships around San Antonio, Texas where he had called home since his retirement. He was a Master Mason in the Constantine Lodge #13, Bonham, Texas.

 

Carl Vaden (Buddy) Horton is survived by his son, Brandon Horton and wife, Brooke of Dallas, Texas; Brother, Frankie and Shirley Horton, Dodd City, Texas; Sisters, Jane and Loyd Johnson, Honey Grove, Texas; Joan and Jack Weaver, Chickasha, Oklahoma; Joy and Johnny Mills, Dodd City, Texas. Also, survived by Brandon’s mom, Judy Horton; and his dog, Rex, a constant companion.

Carl is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.

Parents, Vaden and Gladys Horton; and brother, Jimmie Boyde Horton precede him in death. His wish was to be cremated.
