When you witness a new dawn at dusk, you know you’ve experienced something extraordinary. When that new Dawn is hand-crafted to the meticulous specifications of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ master craftsmen, you know it is truly the first in a new era.

More than 275 guests recently attended the reveal of the 2016 Rolls-Royce Dawn, the luxury marque’s newest four-seat convertible, with the gorgeous backdrop of the Dallas home of Dr. Michael Rimlawi.

Guests were treated to curated culinary experiences presented by Harwood Catering and their restaurants including Saint Ann Restaurant with Chef Andrew; Marie Gabrielle Restaurant & Gardens with Chef Orlando; Mercat Bistro with Chef James; and also provided a special preview of Harwood’s newest, soon-to-be-revealed restaurant with an on-site demonstration from Chef Christian Sbordi.

Guests toasted the new Dawn with JCB No. 21 and later enjoyed sipping on Solerno Sunrise and Reyka Cieltini cocktails. Other delights included Sugaire Infused Teas and Modchocolate tastings.

“Rolls-Royce continues to bring exquisite workmanship to its world-class lineup of vehicles,” said Heath Strayhan, general manager of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dallas. “The Dawn begins a new age of open-top, super-luxury motoring.”

Rolls-Royce has always maintained “It’s not how fast you go, it’s how you go fast.” But, with a 6.6 Liter, 563-horsepower, twin-turbo V12 engine, it’s worth noting that this spry lady can reach 60 mph in 4.7 seconds from a full stop. With an eight-speed Satellite Aided Transmission reading the road ahead, and weighing in at more than 5,600 pounds, it is solidly crafted yet nimble. The Dawn is being celebrated as ‘the sexiest Rolls-Royce ever built.’

Rolls-Royce set out to make a car that looks as beautiful with its roof up as it does when down. And they’ve clearly succeeded. Signature coach doors open from the front for easy access even for the rear seat passengers in the stately, two-door carriage. The roof operation is heralded as ‘The Silent Ballet,’ with the roof opening or closing in 22 seconds even while the vehicle is in motion. It’s the quietest open-top car ever built.

With a base price of $335,000, the true beauty of having a Rolls-Royce Dawn built specifically for you is getting exactly what one desires. Approximately 95% of all Rolls-Royce cars produced are personalized through the company’s Bespoke program. While the options are virtually unlimited, examples include matching the exterior color to a favorite pair of pink leather gloves; dying the leather a desired color or customizing the stitching with an owner’s initials or a corporate logo into the headrest and other interior areas.

“While continuing a hallowed tradition of remarkable automobiles, the Dawn is unlike anything Rolls-Royce has ever built,” continues Strayhan. “Eighty percent of the body panels are new with a distinctive grill and bonnet that sets the Dawn apart. This astonishing vehicle lives up to Sir Henry Royce’s mandate: ‘Strive for perfection in everything we do. When it does not exist, design it.’ The Dawn has already proven to be wildly popular. We have sold out for the 2016 model year and are taking orders for the next edition.”

Located at 5300 Lemmon Avenue near Love Field, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dallas was named the North American Dealer of the Year for 2015. This is the second time in three years the Dallas dealership, part of the Park Place Dealerships group, has been awarded the prestigious honor.
