Bonham ISD: The March students and staff of the month were recognized at the Board of Trustees meeting held on Monday, March 21. Each month, two employees are recognized from across the district for excelling in their professional area. In March, BHS Chemistry and Physics Gretchen Shook was recognized as Teacher of the Month and Lisa Russum, BHS Principal’s Secretary, was selected as Paraprofessional of the Month.
The Students of the Month are:
BHS: Brittania Hernandez & Jordan Quintana
L.H. Rather Junior High: Brant Stuber
I.W. Evans Intermediate: Madison Stark
Finley-Oates Elementary: RaDawn Bracco-Cain
The campus Principals recognized the students with an award and explained each of their character and work values that earned them the award. The students are selected by nomination from the classroom teachers and the staff members are selected by nomination from their peers.
Also invited to the meeting to lead the Pledge of Allegiance were Finley-Oates Kindergarten students. Each pledge leader was presented with a certificate of appreciation for their participation.
First grade student Bethany Dougan was also invited to the Board meeting for special recognition from her teacher, Mrs. Carol Ellis. Bethany reached 300 points in the Accelerated Reader program on Monday, which means she has read more than 600 books since the beginning of the year. Bethany has worked extremely hard to reach this goal and continues to earn more points every day.
