Bonham -- Despite a dominating rebounding effort by the Bonham Warriors, the Celina Bobcats picked up a five-point win in overtime Monday night.
Bonham had an early 8-7 lead, however Celina put together a 10-0 run to take a 17-8 lead early in the second period. The Warriors worked their way back into the contest and only trailed by one point, 23-22, at the half.
Both teams dropped in a dozen points during the third period to give Celina a 35-34 advantage going into the fourth quarter.
Celina had a 46-45 lead with time running out, but a free throw by Bonham senior Caleb Upke sent the game into overtime.
In OT, Celina managed to outscore Bonham 8-3 to give the Bobcats a 54-49 win on the road.
Wyatt Dolberry led Bonham with 13 points, Caleb Upke dropped in a dozen points, Ty Coldiron knocked down nine points, Gabe Miller and Corey Smallwood both scored six and Dylan Stout tossed in three points.
Nebeker of Celina led all scorers with 27 points and Whitney finished with 14 points.
The loss drops the Warriors one game below .500 at 10-11 on the year. The District 12-4A opener will be Friday when Bonham hosts Anna.
The Celina Bobcats improve to 5-4 on the season with the win.
