The planning committee for Earth Day Texoma 2016 met recently and has announced that registration is now open for vendors, food vendors, and sponsors wishing to participate in this year’s event.

Chosen as keynote speaker is John Nikirk, who will address the topic "Healthy Diet, Happy Planet."  His talk will explain how changing one’s diet can improve overall health, tell how human eating patterns impact the health of the planet, and give practical tips on making healthy smoothies and other nutritious but tasty foods.

EDT provides a day of fun, free activities and information to help ordinary people learn practical ways to improve the health of the planet and that of their children.  This is the eighth year it has been held, with attendance ranging from about a thousand to several thousands.

The annual family-oriented environmental festival is scheduled for 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., April 23, 2016, at the Sherman, Texas Municipal Grounds.

Registration forms for vendors and sponsors are at www.earthdaytexoma.com.

Vendor spaces (12x12 ft. each) for sellers of environmentally-friendly products cost $75.

Information booths (for non-profits only, no sales) cost $40.

Electricity for vendor and information-booth spaces is available on a limited, first-come, first-served basis at $10 per space.

Food vendors must complete the registration form that is on the festival website.  Costs and deadlines are the same as for other vendors.

Sponsorships by either businesses or individuals are welcome.  Anyone wishing to contribute to Earth Day Texoma’s support should register at the festival website in one of the following contribution categories:  Stewardship $5000; Conservationist $3000; Environmentalist $1000; Ecologist $500; Preservationist $250; or Recycler $150.

Sponsorship donations and registration forms must be in by April 8 in order for the sponsoring individual or organization to be listed in the printed program.
