The Fannin County GenWeb Project, of which I am proud to be a volunteer, has an amazing website with photographs of tombstones from 171 cemeteries in Fannin County, with a page for each person buried in each cemetery.

One of the largest cemeteries which had not been fully photographed was the Leonard Cemetery, which has stones for 3,312 individuals interred there.

Beginning in December 2015, Larry Standlee, of the GenWeb Project and the Fannin County Historical Commission, made many trips to the Leonard Cemetery to fully photograph the cemetery and post those photographs online.  In addition, more obituaries, death certificates and photographs have been added.  You can see this work, recently completed, by going to txfannin.org and clicking on the Cemeteries tab, and then going to the Leonard Cemetery.  What you will see is the result of many, many hours of work.

The GenWeb project welcomes input from families and friends.  If you have obituaries or photographs that can be added to the website, please contact us at txfannin@gmail.com.
