Denison -- The people at Red River Unitarian Universalist Church have invited Matt Pargeter-Villarreal, a second year seminary student from Brite Divinity School, to speak on Sunday at the 11:15 am Assembly.  His remarks, “It Is More Than Just The Lights” will focus on the struggle people have in looking beyond the decorations, the music, the ads, and the lights that now dominate our lives in order to focus on the deeper meanings of the upcoming winter holidays.

Red River Unitarian Universalist church, a lay-led congregation, starts Sunday mornings with an hour of quiet meditation at 9:00 a.m.; followed by an adult discussion group at 10:00 a.m.  The Morning Assembly starts at 11:15, followed by a lively coffee hour.

Unitarian Universalists are brave, curious and compassionate thinkers and doers who come from many backgrounds.  They have different beliefs but shared values.  Newcomers who find the notion of a dogma-free religious tradition intriguing or challenging are encouraged to visit.

The church is at 515 North Burnett Ave in Denison.
