Ector -- With freshman Austin Earl scoring a game-high 24 points, the Ector Eagles sailed through the semifinals of the Ector Holiday Tournament with a 19-point win over the Roxton Lions.
Roxton had a 7-4 lead after the first quarter, but Ector pulled in front, 20-13, at the half. The Eagles opened the third quarter with a 14-5 run and cruised to a 48-29 win.
In addition to Earl's four three-pointers and 24 points, Andrew Gronek put up eight points, Ryan Wilder scored seven, Ethan Norwood finished with five points, Noel Cannaday contributed four points and Adi Pandey pitched in two points.
Carter led Roxton with eight points.
The Ector Eagles advance to face the Bland Tigers in the finals of the Ector Holiday Tournament Friday evening.
