Honey Grove - Funeral services for Jack Briscoe, 82, formally of Petty, Texas, are scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Brookston Baptist Church, Brookston, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday night from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Honey Grove. Services will be conducted by Rev. Bobby Rich and Rev. Charlie Briscoe. Serving as pallbearers: Trevor Isra, Bruce Ary, Hunter Ary, Charles Briscoe, Gary Lynn Rich, and Dana McCray.
Jack was born on August 29, 1934, to Charles Lester Briscoe and Gracie Lee Nations Briscoe, in Colbert, Oklahoma. . Mr. Briscoe served his country in the U. S. Army. He met and married Shelbie Jean Rich, and they were members of the Brookston Baptist Church. Mr. Briscoe was a mechanic and worked for several companies, the last being Campbell Soup of Paris, Texas, from which he retired. After retiring he loved farming and ranching.
Jack is survived by his loving family: wife, Shelbie Briscoe; granddaughter, Angie Ary and Bruce of Brookston, Texas; sons, Jackie Lynn Briscoe and Sandy of Durant, Oklahoma, Johnny Briscoe and Paula of Paris, Texas, Tim Briscoe and Debbie of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Gene Briscoe and Connie of Euless, Texas; grandson, T. J. Briscoe and Alexis; granddaughters, Rachael Briscoe, Mandy Briscoe, Ashley Isra and Trevor, Courtney Briscoe, and Heather Briscoe Jeffery Briscoe and Bradley Briscoe; great-grandchildren, Hunter Ary, Lona, Lana, and Liam Isra, and Trenton, Arianna, and Jacob Williams; and great-great grandchildren, Saphira Briscoe, and Hartley Briscoe.
Mr. Briscoe was preceded in death by his parents, son Jack Marshall Briscoe and daughter Debra Blackshear.
