Honey Grove -- The McKenzie United Methodist Women of Honey Grove invite you to a luncheon and program on Monday, February 13 at 12:00 noon.   Fatesta Batemen, Honey Grove native and head of Della's House of Giving will speak at their monthly program. Fatesta's non-profit organization (named after her grandmother) provides resources to reduce hunger and increase literacy rates. Her organization services needs in the Metroplex and this past year began working in the Honey Grove ISD. In Honey Grove the after school program gives children a place to do their homework and receive a meal.

The McKenzie UMW began a reading program this school year at the Honey Grove ISD and the program has grown to 18 volunteers. Volunteers work with Ist and 2nd grade children each Thursday afternoon in an effort to improve the reading levels of these students.  McKenzie also serves a meal on Wednesday evening at their church (called Shepherd's Supper) open to anyone in the community.

Please join the UMW on Monday in the church annex (701 7th street, Honey Grove) for a soup and salad luncheon and learn more about the needs of young Honey Grove students. Everyone is invited, lunch provided.  Please call to RSVP - Rhonda Cunningham (214) 478-3130.
