Plano East Senior High School opened district play against Wylie High School Tuesday, March 14, at home with a special night to honor service men and women and first responders.

Plano Police Chief Gregory Rushin, Murphy Police Chief Arthur "Trey" Cotton, and Murphy Fire Chief Del Albright threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game.

Plano East first baseman Andrew Mills hit his sixth homerun of the season (a grand slam) against Highland Park High School Saturday, March 11. As of Tuesday, Mills was tied for first place in the nation with two other players with six homeruns to date. Mills hit a long sacrifice fly to deep left-center field to score a run in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Panthers came up one run short as they fell to Wylie 3 - 4.

First responders, servicemen and veterans were recognized before the game.


The Plano East ROTC Color Guard presented the Colors for the national anthem.
