Dallas, TX -- More than 100 homes will be featured in Trinity Falls and Viridian — both projects of Johnson Development Corp. — during the D-FW Showcase Tour of Homes happening this April.
In all, 20 lavishly appointed model homes and more than 100 inventory homes will be the stage for thousands of decorating ideas. The homes will be open 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 6:00 p.m. Sundays.
In addition to home tours, a bevy of free events will be open to the public and giant butterfly statues will be on display throughout each community. The statues will sport wingspans of up to 8 feet and heights ranging from 6 to 12 feet, adding a splash of color and touch of whimsy to their natural surroundings. Eighteen will be on display in Trinity Falls alone with another 27 in Viridian.
“The butterflies are more than an emblem of Johnson’s commitment to developing sustainable, eco-friendly communities,” said Doug Goff, Co-President for Johnson Development Corp. “We are planting an abundance of butterfly-friendly plants this spring that should be in full bloom by fall when the monarchs begin their annual migration. We hope that they will stop over in our two communities for our residents to enjoy.”
Trinity Falls, a 1,700-acre community located near the banks of the East Fork Trinity River in McKinney will open the doors of 11 model homes during the showcase tour. The public is invited to the community’s Springtime in Trinity Falls event April 2 featuring live music by Shayne Green, a shuttle bus to model homes, food trucks, face painters and more. Visitors also will have a chance to win a kayaking trip on Lake Lavon, dinner for four at Rick’s Chophouse and a bottle of wine from Landon Winery. The public also will have two opportunities to enjoy a free mimosa brunch in the community on April 15 and April 29 during Breakfast at Trinity (Falls). The community’s Wild West Fest on April 21 is open to the public for a limited time and will feature live music, a mechanical bull, Old West photos and food from Hutchins BBQ. Viridian, designated a Certified Gold Signature Sanctuary by Audubon International, is a 2,000-acre community encompassing five lakes, open spaces, trails, rivers and wetlands. The public can celebrate the community’s fifth birthday on April 1 with an array of events including a performance by The Shane Bell Band, tethered hot air balloons, a petting zoo and much more. Weekend themed tours of Viridian’s nine models will happen throughout the month, including a light brunch, paella cooking series and sangria and tapas stroll April 8; brunch, Southern delicacies cooking classes and craft beers April 15; brunch, a sushi-making class and wine and chocolate duos April 22; and brunch, a grilling how-to class and coffee and craft beers brewing event April 29.
