Fannin County Texas A&M Club awards local scholarships

The Fannin County Texas A&M Club recently awarded four $500 scholarships to area students who will be attending Texas A&M University at College Station beginning in the fall semester 2017.  The recipients are Kalin Bennett (Trenton High School), Madalaine Bridges (Dodd City High School), Sarah Hollahan (Whitewright High School), and Brex Schur (Leonard High School).

The scholarship is available to students who submit an application/essay regarding their high school achievements, reside in Fannin County, and have been accepted to attend Texas A&M University, College Station.

Kalin Bennett

Kalin Bennett aspires to pursue medicine and become a plastic surgeon.  She has been very active in service to the Trenton community and with the Beta Club.  She is a regional qualifier in tennis and in UIL Spelling/Vocabulary.

Madalaine Bridges

Madalaine Bridges is the salutatorian for the 2017 Dodd City graduating class.  She has been active in academic UIL, band, volleyball, and Basketball.  Her passion of caring for people has shaped her goal to become a pediatrician.

Sarah Hollahan

Whitewright High School valedictorian Sarah Hollahan plans to pursue a future in law.  Her interest lies in international studies and global politics with a focus on human rights.

Brex Schur

While attending Leonard High School, Brex Schur was an outstanding member of many Tiger athletic teams, student government, Beta Club, and academic UIL.  He will enter Texas A&M on a track to eventually attain an MS of finance degree to one day fulfill his goal of working on Wall Street.

The Fannin County Texas A&M Club would like to congratulate these deserving students and wish them well as members of Texas A&M University class of 2021.
