I want to think the citizens of Bonham for the encouragement that I received from my last article.  I have definitely noticed the differences in mowing techniques of a number of the homes and properties inside our city limits.

This week I would like to talk about inoperative and unlicensed motor vehicles at your residents or on your property.  This is  an adopted Code for the City of Bonham, and also of the State of Texas.  Improper storage of inoperable vehicles can be a serious problem for a community.  The vehicles are unsightly, clutter the neighborhood, provide a harborage for rodents and are an attractive nuisance for children.

In the International Property and  Maintenance Codes, which has been adopted by the City of Bonham, in Article 302.8 Motor Vehicles.  Except as provided for in other regulations, no inoperative or unlicensed motor vehicle shall be parked, kept or stored on premises, and no vehicle shall at any time be in state of major disassembly, disrepair, or in the process of being stripped or dismantled.

Painting of vehicles is prohibited unless conducted inside an approved spray booth.   You may however have a custom fitted car cover on your motor vehicle is acceptable, but a blue tarp or clear  plastic is not.  Like the grass and weeds violation, the above violations are required to be corrected within 10 days.  Failure to comply with  a notice or warning may result in a misdemeanor fine, abatement of the vehicle, and or appropriate action taken in a court of law.

Please help me keep Bonham beautiful!
