Bowden named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College volleyball player Rebekah Bowden has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office has announced. 

Bowden, a senior from Flint, was dominant at the net from her middle blocker position at the Austin College Invitational. She averaged 2.0 blocks-per-set, with seven block solos and 28 total blocks to help the ‘Roos go 4-0 over the course of the weekend. Bowden also averaged 1.79 kills-per-set, and had a weekend-best 11 total blocks in a five set victory over Occidental. 

Bowden currently leads the SCAC and ranks fifth in the nation with an average of 1.52 blocks-per-set for the year.
