Fannin County, Texas – At the regular meeting of Fannin County Commissioner’s Court, the meeting opened with an invocation delivered by David Woodson.  A quorum was established with all members present.

In Public Forum this week, Fannin County Judge Spanky Carter read an announcement from Steve Filipowicz, Executive Director of Bonham Economic Development Corporation, that there will be a county meeting of schools to discuss the Freeport exemption.  This meeting will be hosted by Dr. Beaty, Bonham ISD Superintendent. This will be a joint city and county school’s governing boards workshop. The Bedco board is also invited. This workshop will be on Thursday, September 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Bailey Inglish early childhood center.

Agenda item number four was to approve minutes from September 5, 2017.

Item number five was regarding the purchase of a Zebra label printer for civil case files at a cost not to exceed $400.00. This item was approved and will be funded through the County Clerk Technology Fund.

Agenda item number six was to approve the purchase of a software license and service agreement with KnowInk at a cost of $250.00 and an annual Central Command license fee of $1000.00 hereafter. Ms. Biggar further explained that they would be purchasing IPads that would work with this software to give real time access to who has voted.

The next agenda item awarded the Bank Depository bid to Legend bank. The cost would be $800.00 per month, and the only change to last year’s contract would be an increase of one percent increase to six percent cost if the county borrowed money from them.

Agenda item eight was to approve the County Treasurer’s Financial Report for August 2017. David Woodson reported the revenue for the county was $553,988.36.

Agenda item nine was to approve the County Treasurer’s Texpool Financial Report for August 2017. Mr. Woodson reported that the county earned $3,834.82 in interest from their nine accounts.

Item number ten was to release securities, at Legend Bank’s request, to Beaumont, Texas ISD. The county still has a little over $15 million in securities. This item was approved.

Agenda item eleven dealt a salary adjustment for the court assistant at the Justice of the Peace Precinct #3. The court granted an additional three percent raise on October 1, above the annual three percent raise given. The court felt this would correct an error in salaries.

Agenda item number twelve was to approve the installation of the smoke detectors at the County Court at Law and Criminal Clerk office complex. This was delayed at the previous meeting, but was put back on the agenda and approved at a cost $1,346.59.

Item thirteen was to approve the Fannin County Auditors monthly report for August 2017.

The last agenda item was to pay the bills and this was approved.

The meeting was then adjourned.

Also there will be a tax rate hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, in the Bonham City Council Chamber.
