Honey Grove, Texas -- Don Morrison, age 70, of Honey Grove, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 19 at the First Christian Church in Honey Grove with Nolan Butler officiating assisted by Randy Dority. Visitation will be on Monday, September 18, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at First Christian Church in Honey Grove.

Don was born on December 28, 1946, in Honey Grove to parents John and June Hubbard Morrison. He married Sandy Hammack on June 29, 1968, in Honey Grove. He graduated from Sherman High School and East Texas State University. He retired as a supervisor from the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. Don served as president of the Honey Grove Dixie League youth baseball organization for ten years, president of the Honey Grove Golf Club for many years, former president of the Honey Grove Industrial Foundation, former Honey Grove city manager in addition to Honey Grove city councilman and city judge. He also served on the
board of the Texoma Council of Governments. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Honey Grove and attended the College Church of Christ in Paris.

Don Morrison is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Sandy Morrison of the home; and two sons, Will Morrison and wife Charlie and Todd Morrison and wife Leah, both of Honey Grove; grandchildren Anna, Isabella, Allie, and Lucas Morrison, all of Honey Grove; sister Patricia Elliott of Hewitt, TX, and niece and nephews John Elliott, Cynthia Holle and husband Jeff, and Sam
Elliott; great nieces Rachel and Rebekah Holle and great nephew Walter Holle, as well as several cousins. Don was predeceased by his parents, his sister Susie Morrison, and brother-in- law Pat Elliott.
