Jerry Wayne Robinson

Bonham, Texas -- A celebration of life for Jerry Wayne Robinson, 74, of Randolph, Texas will begin with visitation at 1:00 p.m. followed by services at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Bonham. Bro. Cody Nelson and Bro. Bill Beasley will officiate. Interment will follow at Randolph-Lindsey Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Army Honor Guard. The flag will be presented by Gary and Anthony Anderson for Jerry’s honorable and faithful service in the United States Army. Gary and Jerry served honorably together while stationed in Germany and Gary was also a groomsman in their wedding. Mr. Robinson joined our heavenly father on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

Jerry Wayne Robinson was born on February 13, 1943 in Ector, Texas to Kenneth and Cletha (Edwards) Robinson. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam era from 1966-1967. On June 22, 1968, Jerry married Carolyn Bowman his loving wife of almost 50 years. He started working for General Cable in 1968 and worked there for 37 plus years before retiring as a process engineer.

Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was proud to be a Veteran and attended the Veteran’s Day Celebration at the school with his grandchildren. He also attended any activity that his grandchildren participated in showing his unconditional love for his family. Jerry loved working in the yard, landscaping, planting flowers, and gardening in general; some would say that his back yard looked like a botanical garden. He loved attending tractor pulls and drag races and he enjoyed the company of his dogs especially his weenie dog Lucy. Jerry was a Christian man and a member of First Baptist Church of Bonham.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Carolyn Robinson of the home; son, Jeff Robinson and Michelle Phillips of Randolph, TX; son, Jason Robinson and wife Amanda of Durant, OK; grandchildren, Wade Robinson, Wyatt Robinson, Charlotte Robinson, Tatom Robinson, Chesney Robinson, Taryn Robinson, Conner Phillips and Logan Phillips; sister, Sheree Edmaiston of Sherman, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Robinson and Cletha Robinson and brother, Ed Robinson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Bowman, Mike Bowman, Charles Bowman, Bruce Edmaiston, Johnny White, Gary Hall, Edwin Anderson, David Butterworth and Kerry Robinson.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dolton Owens, Bill Thurman, JC McRae, Gene Danner, Eugene Blackerby, Wayne Titsworth, Richard Ownby, John Aurthur Smith, and Joe Bellows.
