Honey Grove -- The Women of McKenzie United Methodist Church and the Honey Grove Preservation League invite you to join us on Monday, October 16, 2017 for a special historical program to be held at McKenzie United Methodist, 701 7th Street, Honey Grove, Texas.

Are you a history buff? A Methodist? Or would you just like to enjoy a delicious lunch and hear an interesting program on what was happening in northeast Texas in the middle of the 1800’s?

11:30 – Tour the sanctuary and see the organ. The church building was built in 1911 and organ installed and dedicated in 1918.

The sanctuary has just undergone restoration and the organ was totally rebuilt in 2013.

12:00 –  Luncheon (no charge but please RSVP) and Program
Dr. Barbara Caffee will be speaking on “Methodism Comes to Northeast Texas.”

She will focus on the movement of circuit-riding preachers into northeast Texas and settlement of the earliest churches.
