Gunter, Texas -- Jimmie Ellen Garner (Ba) of Gunter, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by family on October 10th, 2017 at the age of 95. She was born April 12, 1922 to Arthur and Lillian Todd in Gunter.

She was married to L.B. Garner in 1940 who preceded her in death in 1991. Jimmie took great joy in her family and was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed. She is survived by two sons, Doug Garner and wife Tammie… of Gunter, Dennis Garner and wife Yvonne of Gunter, 7 Grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and 3 sisters, Jessie Burke of Sherman, Wanda Bartlett of Dorchester, and Doris Layman and husband Bob of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Tammy Banker of Atoka, and sister Lorene Grissom of Van Alstyne. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gunter. She worked in various positions in Gunter for over 50 years.

Visitation will be held at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne on Thursday, October 12 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 13 at First Baptist Church in Gunter officiated by Scott Jordan and Bob Layman. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
