Fannin County Farm Service Agency (FSA) wants to remind producers who have native and improved grass that they have a few days left to report 2018 acreage. The deadline is Wednesday, November 15, 2017. Some producers who reported in past years have not yet filed a report for 2018.

Filing this report is a requirement to qualify for programs such as the Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) or the annual Price Loss Program (PLC). Reports filed after the deadline will require late file fees.

December 1, 2017, is the final day to purchase 2018 Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) coverage for improved and native grasses. There are still quite a few producers who have not purchased coverage. The administrative fee can be waived for socially disadvantaged, beginning farmer/rancher and limited resource producers. NAP coverage cannot be obtained after the deadline.

Call the Fannin County FSA Office at 903-583-9513 for more information and appointment.
