Allen, Texas -- Pete Brown passed away peacefully on November 4, 2017 in Allen, Texas. Pete was born to Allison and Bessie Crank on July 24, 1931 in McKinney, Texas.

Pete had one job in her life and she did it well. She fiercely ruled the hallowed halls of Abernathy Roeder and all it’s mutations for over 50 years, with her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor.

Pete had no children of her own, but raised and loved every Crank and Curtis kid that farmed the west side of Allen. Pete was the best aunt and carted kids around everywhere she went. Most trips ended up with ice cream and candy.

Pete moved up to Anna in the mid-'80s and began her mid-life adventures by doing what she wanted to do – playing golf with Richard at Hurricane Creek Country Club. She had a good life and enjoyed each and every day.

Pete Brown is preceded in death by her father, two mothers, two sisters (Iwanda Lane and Betty Crank) and two husbands (Mac Curtis and Richard D. Brown, Sr.). She is survived by two sisters, Ilene Hedgcoxe of Allen, and Doris Streu of Lubbock. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grands and greats of both, step-children with grand and great grandkids (including cops, a Hobo, and a preacher), twice-removed kinfolk, wonderful friends, and every stray cat that appeared on her front porch in Anna, Texas.

In lieu of sending flowers, please honor Pete’s often-repeated mantra, “Don’t send me flowers when I am dead. Enjoy them while you are alive.” You may donate to a charity of your choice, if so desired.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Westminster, Texas. The family will receive friends starting at 2:00 p.m. prior to the graveside at 3:00 p.m.
